Make Your Own Cocoa Mix

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1/3 cup natural cocoa powder
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup sugar or sugar substitute

    (Makes 5-6 servings)

Combine ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. Store in an air-tight container. When ready to use, add ¼ cup of the mixture to a mug and top with 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well.

Flavor Variations

Rich Rum Cocoa
Prepare as above and add 1 tsp amaretto extract and 1/8 tsp rum extract per serving.

Marvelous Mocha Cocoa
Prepare as above and add 1 1/2 tsp instant coffee and 1/8 tsp vanilla extract per serving.

Perky Peppermint Cocoa
Prepare as above and add 1/8 tsp peppermint extract per serving.

Put the mix in a pretty container and wrap it up with a bow for a beautiful and healthy gift.

*EDITOR'S NOTE: This mix is easy to modify based on your preferences. If you prefer a richer chocolate flavor increase the amount of cocoa.
